I don't really have a problem with the training aspect. My little guys have to be strong and not just cute. Being cute is definitely most important though.

It doesn't look like there are a lot of people over here in Kanto though. Wonder why that is...

Maybe because most people start in Johto, and it's kind of expensive to get to Kanto without help? How'd you get here?
