They learn few attacks at first and evolving them is not very intuitive, but once you get past that they become excellent battlers. They can also learn Surf, Waterfall and Whirlpool, which makes sea travel much easier. And if that does not suffice, yours has a much rarer color than the usual.

They do not. I think mine evolved from happiness, but the Department Stores also sell an item that can speed up the process. I'm not quite certain how it works, however.

That is a Feebas, and it is most certainly not grotesque! In fact, if you don't treat it well, it wouldn't evolve at all.
